Encouraging Thoughts:

Something that can keep us from being close and vulnerable with the people around us is when we compare ourselves to them in some way. Just as much as God desires that we live in close, loving relationships with one another, Satan desires to keep us isolated, and competition and comparison are some of his tools to do so. Whenever I feel that my value is threatened because of what someone else carries, it helps me to remember that everything each of us is and has is from God. Nothing that truly matters comes from my own strength, so if my desire is to impact the world for good, I can trust that God knows exactly what I need in order to do that. It is humbling to remember that God is the vine and we are simply the branches. We can do absolutely nothing apart from Him! Let us not resent anyone else for what they possess, but instead embrace that each one of us is in total dependence on God, stewarding what we have been given the best that we can!

"I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
