ENCOURAGING THOUGHTS
Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone
As humans, we tend to be creatures of habit. We like keeping a routine, even down to the chairs we sit in on Sunday morning at church. We have our spot, and we have our friends to talk to. There is security in a routine that can be very good for us.
But have you ever felt a prompt from God inside you to step out of the regular routine? Maybe a nudge to go talk to the new person at church, or to sit in a different spot? How often do we challenge ourselves to step out of our "normal" everyday life? God can and does work in our regular routine, but sometimes there are things that He wants to accomplish that require us to step out of our comfort zones.
Take a look at these examples from the Bible:
Abraham was called to leave his extended family and his homeland to travel to the land God called him to.
(Gen 12:1-4)
Moses felt inadequate in his speaking ability, but he was called to confront the Pharaoh and lead the whole nation of Israel out of Egypt. (Exodus 4:10-12)
Esther was an orphaned Jewish girl who was called to have influence with the king and save her nation from destruction. (Book of Esther)
David was a young shepherd boy who fought a giant. Gideon was hiding scared from the Midianites and later led a small army that defeated them! These are just a few of many people who were called to do things they would never have dreamed of doing before God called them.
We might not feel that stepping out of our comfort zone will have the same level of impact as the above examples from the Bible had. But the truth is, we usually don't know the full impact that our obedience — or disobedience — will have.
So, if you feel the nudge of Holy Spirit leading you to step out of your routine, take a moment and listen. You never know the impact that decision could have on your own life or someone else's.

Morning out for Moms is starting up again this week! This is a connect group for moms of babies, toddlers, and school-age children. Wednesdays at 10 AM at the church. For more info, contact the church office or talk to Esther!

Rooted and Unstoppable Youth is starting this coming Thursday, September 24th, from 7–9 PM! We'll be meeting at Third Day Church for the month of September. Youth in grades 6–12 are invited to come out for games, worship, and digging into God's Word together!

If you are in grade 12 - age 25 and want to learn more about biblical leadership and growing in your unique calling, come out to Thrive this Friday evening, September 25th, from 7-9 PM. For more info and location, contact 403 715 4086.
The Lethbridge House of Prayer is celebrating 20 years! You're invited to join the celebration and attend their Fundraising Gala this Saturday, September 26th at 7 PM (Doors open at 6 PM). It will be held at the Sandman Signature Lethbridge Lodge. Tickets are $40 and are available by clicking here.
