Connecting Lives, Building Faith, Releasing Destiny
Hello OLC Family! Welcome back to another email update!

As always, if you missed our message from last week, you can head over to our website or YouTube page to watch it, or you can listen to it through many of the podcast services available. Our Sunday Livestream is also available through YouTube.

Announcements:

Sound training starts tomorrow evening (November 9th) at 7:00 pm! If you want to learn how to run the soundboard, please talk to Pastor Wayne as soon as possible so we can prepare for you to come!

It's the time of year for Operation Christmas Child! If you haven't taken home a shoebox yet, be sure to get one (or two or three!) this Sunday, fill them up, and bring them back by Sunday, November 20th. Each year these boxes have such an incredible impact on a child somewhere in the world, and it's amazing that we can so easily be a part of bringing hope, love, and Jesus to children in this way!

The 24-hour worship "Burn" is coming up this weekend on November 11th-12th (7:00 pm-7:00 pm) at Free Grace Church. This is an opportunity for the churches of Lethbridge to join in a powerful time of worship together! Feel free to come worship for as short or long a time as you want.

On Saturday, November 19th at 8:30 am we will be decorating the church for Christmas! This is quite the task, so please come help us if you are available and enjoy decorating!

The church office will be closed next Monday, November 14th.

If you're looking for ways to get involved or connected, check out our website for details about all of our Connect Groups and events that are currently going on!

Encouraging Thoughts:

We've all walked through times of discouragement. Some days we wonder if what we are doing is worth it, or if God is truly good and faithful. Doubt can seep into our minds, blocking out the peace that the Holy Spirit has for us, and changing the way we look at our lives and the world around us. We can become stuck in this place. The good news is that we are empowered to change the way we think in just a moment. God promises us that there is hope. He promises that the trials that we go through now are not even comparable to the glory that is coming. Our hope in Him will not end in disappointment! If you are drifting in between doubt and hope, this is your moment to choose who you will believe - Jesus or Satan. We cannot serve two masters. Choose today to fully embrace the hope that is offered to you!

"Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God's glory. We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment.
