ENCOURAGING THOUGHTS

Sing Praise
As you read through the book of Psalms, the words rejoice and praise make a regular appearance — over 100 times each!

If you are discouraged, reading the psalms is a good remedy. Many of the psalms start out with the writer crying out to the Lord for help in the midst of trouble and anguish. But as the psalms progress, the tone usually begins to transform from despairing to hopeful, from crying out to singing out with joy!

It's hard to read very far before hope starts to bubble up in our own hearts. Why is that?

Praising and rejoicing in the Lord stirs something inside of us that nothing else in this world can. Because praise shifts our focus from seeing the impossible to the possible. From our discouragement to the magnificence of our God! 

This week, take time to read through some of the psalms out loud and let your heart be encouraged as praise begins to pour from your lips. Let everything that is glorious within you sing praise!

The Seniors Breakfast is happening this Thursday, March 19th, at 9:30 AM at the Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre! Come out and enjoy some good food and amazing fellowship!

If you are a leader or a volunteer in one of OLC's Frontline Ministries (Greeting, Ushering, Coffee Hub, Altar Ministries, etc.), please mark your calendars and plan to attend our annual Plan To Protect Training happening on Saturday, March 28th, at the church. There are two sessions: 9:30 AM & 7:00 PM. Please choose ONE to attend. Sign up at the Connect Hub or contact Pastor Mitchell at 403 331 8684.

Join us for a Prayer Summit on Tuesday, March 31st, from 7:00–8:30pm. This will be a night of prayer and worship to seek after our heavenly Father and pray for the next generation.

Our annual Good Friday service is coming up on April 3rd, 2026. The service will start at 9:00 AM, followed by a pancake breakfast downstairs at 10:00.

One Life Church will be hosting a Holy Spirit Empowerment Weekend, April 24–26, 2026. Cost is $25/person, with anyone aged 25 and under attending for FREE! Speakers are Lonnie Sims and Pastor Wayne Boersma. To register, call the church office or sign up at the Connect Hub.
