ENCOURAGING THOUGHTS
The Fruit of Transformation What do you think of when you hear the word transformation?
Often we think of miraculous changes in people or situations where everything has changed for the better.
The Oxford Languages dictionary defines transformation as:
A thorough or dramatic change in form or appearance.
In other words, in transformation there is a marked and visible difference between what was before and what is now. Similar to how a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly. The before and the after are almost unrecognizable.
It's safe to say that we all desire to see transformation in our lives, but the question is, are we willing to walk through the process to get there?
Transformation rarely happens overnight. It's a process that occurs over time and is sometimes so gradual that we may not recognize it as transformation until we look back and see where we were compared to where we are now.
A caterpillar cannot become a butterfly without first spending time in a chrysalis. In the same way, it is virtually impossible to see any authentic, lasting transformation in our own lives without giving the Holy Spirit room to work inside us.
The Bible says that the Holy Spirit was given to us to guide us into all the truth (John 16:13), and Galatians 5:22-23, lists the fruits or characteristics that grow in us as a result of the Holy Spirit's work.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. - Galatians 5:22-23
The way we become transformed is the continual daily decision to let the Holy Spirit work inside of us, leading us into truth and growing fruit that will transform us from the inside out!
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23 ESV
