ENCOURAGING THOUGHTS
The King Is Here As Christmas draws near, it is often a time of reflection.
We reflect on the past year: our experiences, our accomplishments, our relationships, and more. We reflect on what our lives have been: the good, the bad, and the uncertain. And how our faith in the Lord has impacted us during those times.
With all that is going on in the world today, it can be hard to reconcile the harshness of our world with the innocence and the beauty of the Christmas story. We see Jesus during this time as a baby. A very important, gentle, innocent baby. The perfect Son of God. But the events surrounding Jesus' birth were anything but warm and cozy. There was unrest and uncertainty at the time of Jesus' birth, much like our world today. And while it's important to reflect on the glory of His humble birth, let's also be reminded that Jesus is our Savior and our King. He is here with us and mighty to save!
In John, chapter 1, verse 14, it says:
The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14, NIV)
As we reflect during this Christmas season, let us remember that Jesus was born in a humble stable, but He is also our mighty, victorious King, and the King is here.
"The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." John 1:14 NIV
