His Comfort
What is it about autumn that brings that comforting feeling?

When the fall season comes, we instinctively bring out our warmer sweaters and cozy socks. Comfort drinks and foods like specialty coffee, hot chocolate, and warm soup feel all the more desirable because they bring us warmth when everything around us is cooling down.

Keeping warm is more than a survival instinct. It is also a heart instinct as well.

A chill in the air leads us towards the things that warm us - not just physically, but emotionally as well. Whether it's curling up with a cozy blanket and a good book in front of the fire or bringing out our favourite baking recipes, the fall season reminds us that winter is around the corner, and our hearts crave the comfort that warmth brings.

If earthly things can bring us some of the warmth that we crave, how much more the comfort that God gives us?   

2 Corinthians 1:4 says:

He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.  (2 Corinthians 1:4, NLT).

As we are drawn towards the things that comfort us this fall season, let's remember that earthly things can only bring so much warmth to our lives. But the love and comfort God brings can keep us warm inside all year long

And we can share that comfort with others, and bring warmth to them as well!

Rooted & Unstoppable Youth will be at Third Day Church again this week (Sept 25). Come out from 7-9 PM for amazing fun, friends, & studying God's Word together! Grades 6-12.

The Aglow International Virtual Global Conference will be streamed at One Life Church Sept. 26 - 27. Guest Speakers include Nancy McDaniel, Graham Cooke, & Jen Pringale. Cost is $20/person (includes Sat lunch).
Registration is Fri, Sept 26th at 6:30 PM, and Sat, Sept 27th at 9:00 AM at One Life. Talk to Bonny for more info.

Those involved in the Christmas Production will be having a practice next Monday, September 29th, at 7:00 PM. If you would like to be involved, talk to Pastor Mitchell & Trina!

Thrive Young Adults Leadership Development Training will begin next Friday, October 3rd at 7:00 PM at the Flamands. Talk to Preston & Rachelle for more info and location. For grade 12 thru age 24.

Mission Aviation Fellowship presents L!fted Nights of Worship! An intimate worship concert on Wed, October 15th at 7 PM at OLC. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased by clicking here.
