ENCOURAGING THOUGHTS

But, it's not the same!
Have you ever had a recipe that you just love? It has the perfect blend of ingredients that make it taste just perfect! Maybe the recipe was passed down to you from generations before, or it's one that you stumbled upon or created yourself that is now a family favourite. It could be cookies, squares, bread, or even a hearty soup...
  
If you have a recipe like that, you know how important it is to make sure you have all of the ingredients and follow the recipe. Even if there aren't exact measurements, you learned how much of each ingredient makes it just right. 

We also know that leaving out an ingredient can change the taste of the recipe completely. Even changing the amount of a single spice can alter the flavour that the recipe creates, and you might be left with the thought, It's just not quite the same!

It's the same way within the body of Christ. We all bring a very specific "flavour" to the table, and God has a carefully designed plan for how all of our gifts and personalities work together to bring His Kingdom here on earth.

In 1 Corinthians 12, the Bible talks about believers being like the human body with many parts and each part being important to the overall function of the body.  

But God has carefully designed each member and placed it in the body to function as He desires. A diversity is required, for if the body consisted of one single part, there wouldn't be a body at all! (1 Corinthians 12:18-19, TPT).

Like the analogy of the human body, our favourite recipes make a similar point. Each ingredient is important to create the desired flavour. If you leave even one thing out, the difference is noticeable.

Lord, help us to remember that you have created each of us to be a unique and vital part of your design!

Join us this week as we spend time seeking the Lord for His direction for our lives personally and corporately through A Week of Prayer & Fasting. 7 - 8 PM (Monday to Friday) at the church.

Lethbridge City Wide Youth presents, With You Always, an out-of-this-world kick-off event for youth grades 6-12 at Legacy Park this Friday, September 12th, from 5:30-9:00 PM. There will be food trucks, field games, prizes, amazing worship, and so much more!

This coming Sunday is Connection Sunday! Join us for a special service and then stay for a taco in a bag lunch afterward! Please bring a dessert to share!

One Life Church is planning a Christmas production this year and we want you to be a part of it! If you'd like to sing in the choir, act in the drama, or help with props or other behind the scenes roles, please talk to Pastor Mitchell or Trina. 403 331 8684. There will be choir auditions and a round table discussion on Monday, September 15th at 7 PM at the church. If you are interested, come on out!
