Take a Fresh Look
Do you ever look at something that you've looked at thousands of times before, and suddenly see it in a brand new light?

 It could be noticing a discreet detail in a piece of artwork or something that you didn't notice before in a photo that you have seen many times. Sometimes, the more we look at something, the more we see. And sometimes, we think we have seen everything, and we are surprised when we see something new. 

When it comes to the word of God, we can be tempted to skim read over some of the well-known stories and passages because we know them so well.

But the amazing thing about God's word is that there is always something new for us to see. Even in the parts that we've read thousands of times before.

Jesus said that the words that He speaks are spirit and life (John 6:63). They are alive and active. In Psalm 119:18, the psalmist asks God to open his eyes so that he would see wonderful things in God's law.

This week, let's read the Bible with fresh eyes to see what God wants to reveal to us each day!

"Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law."

We will be having a Connection Sunday on August 17th with a Church Picnic to follow after the service! We would love for you to join us! There is a sign-up sheet at the Connect Hub so we can make sure we have enough for everyone! Please also sign up to bring either a dessert or salad.
