Kind Words Are Like Honey
Did you know that it takes two million flower visits for bees to make one pound of honey? That's a lot of flowers and a lot of bees!
When the bible talks about honey, it often uses honey as an analogy to show the effects of speaking kind words.
Proverbs 16:24 says:
"Kind words are like honey - sweet to the soul and healthy for the body." (NLT)
When we speak kind words, they are sweet like honey to those who hear them. But let's also look at the last part of the verse. It says that kind words are also healthy for the body.
If we look at natural honey, studies have shown that honey contains a variety of essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that are very healthy for our bodies. Honey has also been found to be an antimicrobial agent that can be used to promote the healing of minor burns and wounds! If honey has that many health benefits for our physical bodies, imagine how much positive impact and health kindness can bring to our lives and those around us!
Let's promote healing with our tongues and think about how we can use our words to bring sweetness to someone's life today!
