ENCOURAGING THOUGHTS
Be Curious
Remember the stories you would read as a kid about curious animals? They would often go off on amazing adventures, following the scent of new discoveries!
Many animals — and some people too, have a natural curiosity that cannot be quenched. They want to discover things and find out why they are the way they are.
As Christians, the Bible encourages us to be curious when it comes to seeking out God's ways and learning about our faith in Christ.
Here are a few examples:
It is God's privilege to conceal things and the king's privilege to discover them. (Proverbs 25:2 NLT)
Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. (Matthew 7:7 NLT)
The spiritually hungry are always ready to learn more, for their hearts are eager to discover new truths. (Proverbs 18:15 TPT)
These verses make it clear that God has many hidden mysteries that He wants us to discover. Hidden truths about who He is, who we are, and what He wants to do in us and through us to impact the world around us.
Where do we look for these truths? Through prayer and studying His Word!
Let's make this season a summer of curiosity! Let's spend time in prayer and dig deep into God's Word and see what new discoveries He wants to show us.

This summer, we are diving into the book of Colossians. This Sunday, we'll be focusing on Chapter 1:24 – Chapter 2:5. See how Jesus is enough in every situation you face.
Come out to Behold the King Worship Night this Friday, July 24th, at 7:00 PM at Christ The Redeemer Church in Lethbridge (2820 18 Ave North). Admission is FREE.
The Family Movie this coming Sunday afternoon (July 26th) has been CANCELED. We'll keep everyone posted on when the next one will be.
OLC is participating in The Lethbridge House of Prayer's "Every Church Adopt a School Initiative"! We are collecting backpacks as part of our community outreach to donate to kids at Lakeview Elementary School in Lethbridge (K-5). If you would like to donate a backpack, please bring it to the church by Aug 23rd. You can also pray for the kids at the school (a prayer list is included in the above image).
